- Overnight: Authentic Riad in Fes

5. Fes to Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

Today is your longest driving day, but incredibly scenic. Drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane (the "Switzerland of Morocco") and the cedar forests of Azrou to see the Barbary macaques. Cruise through the Ziz Valley palm groves until you reach the edge of the Sahara. Park your car safely in Merzouga, meet your camel guide, and ride into the dunes for a night under the stars.

- Driving time: ~7 hours (460 km)

- Overnight: Luxury Desert Camp in Erg Chebbi

6. Merzouga to Dades Valley

Wake up early for a spectacular desert sunrise. After breakfast and a shower at the camp, retrieve your car and drive to the towering Todra Gorges—a massive fault dividing the High Atlas Mountains. Continue along the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs to the stunning Dades Valley.

- Driving time: ~4 hours (250 km)

- Overnight: Kasbah Hotel in Dades Valley

7. Dades Valley to Ouarzazate

Drive through the Valley of the Roses (Kelaat M'Gouna) and the palm grove of Skoura. Arrive in Ouarzazate, the "Hollywood of Africa." Visit the Taourirt Kasbah or the Atlas Film Studios, where movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed.

- Driving time: ~2.5 hours (140 km)

- Overnight: Riad/Hotel in Ouarzazate

8. Ouarzazate to Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou

- Driving time: ~4 hours (200 km)

- Overnight: Riad in Marrakech Medina

9. Discover Marrakech (Car-Free Day)
