Chefchaouen commonly known as the blue city is located in the foothills of the Rif mountains locally referred to as the “Horns” of Chefchaouen. This Cannon of the Aghouat as it is also locally called is an ancient castle that was begun in 1471 by Moulay Ali Ben Moussa who was a descendant of Mohammed.
