This city is remarkably safeguarded, it is actually included in the list of sites that officially belong to the World Heritage under the aegis of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. There is artwork in mosaics randomly done at corners with historical columns and the doors of arches. Next, we stroll for one and half hours to get around the ruins, the we get into our vehicle and drive 30 kilometres to visit Meknes – the Ismailian capital and one of the imperial cities. I mentioned while we took time to visit, Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, Royal stables, and the granary among others. The others are The former Ksar of Ait Atta, The old town of Tamegroute, And the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. We then proceed to Fes. I got an opportunity to be hosted in a Riad though the stay was only for a day.

Imouzzer is the next place which is to the south and once we are done with the breakfast I take the car and we head to Imouzzer where Ifrane is located. This is famous for its low impact especially on weather such as snow and a certain type of architecture where homes are constructed in the alpine manner. However, it can be described with much propriety as being Morocco’s Switzerland. It then continues to cedars forest – that is where Barbary macaque is found. Feed them when they are around and moving from one point to the other in the forest picking fruits. In the afternoon, we proceed with Midelt and lunch is on self arrangement. We push on to Merzouga through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass where by we get to view the Ziz valley.

But of course only with a few pauses to take a breathtaking picture. We then take a short drive in the afternoon from Ouarzazate to the Saharan town of Merzouga this marks the start of the actual break. . Being the path on which you transform into camels, and cross the sandy desert. From the information above, at the end of the day, a particular individual will climb to the summit of a high dune in order to watch the sunset. Lastly, you go to camp. The actual shape of the structure, which is somewhere between tents from nomads’ like the Berber ones and comfortable hotels. One can spend hours listening to the Berber drums, dancing to the fire, and the heights of the stars of Sahara above. Picking lunch on the way, get to the camp early and start preparing for dinner and then spend the night in the camp.

One of the conditions for spotting the show of sunrise is waking up early in the morning. Free time for breakfast. You then continue by camels back to Merzouga and there is the driver waiting for you. We next move to Rissani town which used to be the capital of Tafilalet. Rissani, which even today is more or less a symbol of trading place in the region. Next, we head to the souk that is held in Rissani then drive to Erfoud where we make a stop at one of the factories that deal in fossilized marble.

We then move on to the Touroug and Tinjdad’s date plantations to the Todra Gorges. Todra river has carved out a very large red cliffs kind of gorge right through the mountains that it passes through. It should however be noted that these gorges are particularly suitable for rock climbing. One does not pay anything for a walk here; one is at liberty to walk in the gorges to feel the sights of the landscape. Take a lunch in a restaurant and have a rest. One then moves to the valley of Dades passing by Boumalne Dades. Then, a compulsory stop at the ‘monkey fingers’ rock and another at the look out of the valley of dades. Last, dinner at night time and spend the night at a hotel.
